The cold weather is starting to draw in and once it’s here there’s only one thing on people’s minds... Christmas. It might seem like an eternity away but already Santa’s elves are hard at work to make sure it’s the best Christmas yet in Liverpool. Nothing says Christmas like a Christmas Market and this year Liverpool’s is going to be massive. The Liverpool Ice Festival is returning to the Pier Head this winter and it promises to be bigger and better than ever. This year not only is it bringing a super sized triple-lane ice slide, a larger ice rink and giant ferris wheel, it’s also setting up a traditional Christmas market with 50 German market stalls bringing all the sights and wonderful smells of Christmas to the waterfront. There will be three German-style bars and a Bavarian food court serving up specialities and of course, mulled wine and hot chocolate. Organisers claim it will be Liverpool's biggest Christmas market. And if you’d like to stick with the ice theme, you can chill out in the Ice Bar which has a sub-zero room and tables and chairs carved from real ice. There will also be an Apres Lodge that can fit up to 200 people with sofas and a family-friendly atmosphere. The Ice Festival will run from November 17 until January 7, for more information and tickets, visit the website..
