Emmerdale spoilers: Robert and Aaron for 'weird' Christmas drama with HUGE cameo

EMMERDALE fan favourites Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle are set for some high drama this Christmas, according to one of the stars of the soap. Executive producer Iain Macleod has said that the two characters will be involved in a festive special. The story to air on Christmas Day will give fans a Yuletide dose of the two characters, who are going through a rough patch at the moment. They are currently at odds with one another after Aaron (played by Danny Miller) learnt that his husband (Ryan Hawley) had cheated on him with former flame Rebecca White (Emily Head) while he was in prison. Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, the soap boss revealed: "Aaron is always involved in Robert's life and there is a big, big episode that will go out on Christmas Day that's more or less a kind of RobRon single-strander, which is probably the weirdest episode we've ever done."  Macleod went on: "Given that we've done some pretty weird episodes, that's really saying something. It's really kind of out there and the episode I've been most nervous about since I started just because of how crackers it really is. "I think it's really entertaining and dramatic and it's got a surprise cameo in it and it's stylistically a bit weird and romantic. It's going to be really great." He continued: "I always think of Aaron and Robert on opposite ends of elastic and at the moment the elastic is stretched pretty tight. They're as far away from each other as I'm comfortable with them getting, but the events of Christmas and the new year will boing them back together again." Macleod added that the Christmas episode was influenced by two of his favourite films and one of his favourite TV shows.  Macleod went on: "Given that we've done some pretty weird episodes, that's really saying something.
