PIMP YOUR TREEYou can buy Christmas tree lights which are customizable using Twinkly app from John Lewis- but it’s got a hefty price tag THE search is over for Christmas fans looking to pimp their tree this festive season. John Lewis has just won the battle with new set of lights that are customizable using an app. The company behind it are called Twinkly which has partnered with the retail giant to sell a multicolour Christmas lights chain. Controllable by your smartphone thanks to the integrated Wi-Fi, it allows you to light up your tree with the colour or patterns that you want. The setup is quick and intuitive and the free app works both on Android and iOS phones. All you need to do is place the lights on the tree, open the app, and begin customising your decorations. Your phone camera then recognises the position of the LEDs, marking the allocation from a programmed sequence, so you can individually control and potentially change the colour of each individual light. For example, you could create a UK floating flag or colour your tree like a rainbow You can also chose the intensity and speed of your lights. Sadly, the customisable light chain come with a hefty price. Prices start from £65 for 105 lights and go up to a whopping £85 for 175 lights. It is now available to buy from the John Lewis Christmas Market which opened in its Oxford Street shop today. The shop is also showcasing a 19-foot wall of tinsel and atrium featuring more than 45,000 LED lights. Customers will also be able to buy giant Kinder eggs in a a gift box with their name on it. Christmas is less than a 100 days away and most retailers will be putting their Christmas products on shelves soon. Aldi is set to launch a wine advent calendar for £49.99 – which works out at £2 per mini bottle - on November 1. Meanwhile ASOS already introduced its £55 beauty advent calendar while Tesco is already selling festive chocolate tubes.
