Oh no, the CBeebies panto hasn't been announced, oh yes it has! Toddlers everywhere, assemble! CBeebies is getting ready to record its Christmas panto, so grown-ups everywhere can start applying for tickets. The chance for the loyal TV audience to see their favourites live on stage makes this a hugely popular event attracting thousands of applications every year and the ballot opens next week. What's the CBeebies panto story this year? It's The Snow Queen! The icy tale from Hans Christian Andersen, on which Frozen is based, is being performed this year in a show promising to be "full of adventure, comedy and music". It tells the story of Gerda, a village girl, who journeys to the freezing north to rescue her best friend Kai from the Snow Queen. Cat Sandion from Let's Play is Gerda, while Dr Ranj Singh from Get Well Soon plays Kai and the title role is taken by Rebecca Keatley from Let's Play. Performers from Apple Tree House, Something Special, Justin's House and Swashbuckle will also be among the cast.Tickets are free and will be allocated through a ballot which opens at 11am on Tuesday, October 10 and closes at 11am on Tuesday, October 17. They will then be allocated completely at random so there is no advantage to being among the first to register. Please be aware that tickets must be requested for every member of the party who wishes to attend the panto. This includes adults, children and babies. The show is recommended for children aged four and above.Performances will be filmed for television so the panto may have to stop at some points, meaning it will not have the flow of a usual theatrical performance. The recording takes place at Leicester’s Curve Theatre. Tickets will be available for the dress rehearsal at 5pm on Friday, November 3 as well as two main performances at 1pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, November 4.
