Lidl has launched a new Hangover Free Prosecco. To good to be True? Santa CCTV Finds out.....The discounter’s Organic Prosecco Spumante is available for £7.99 Lidl s has launched an organic version of prosecco which it claims will banish that morning after feeling. No Hangover? Just sounds to good to be true...... The discounter’s Organic Prosecco Spumante for £7.99 hits shelves on Thursday. According to Lidls wine master Richard Bampfield the bubbly does not taste “rustic” and instead “has bright aromas of pear and white peach”. Organic Prosecco uses less sulphites which have been linked to hangovers and Mr Bampfield said: “We’ve all had that shocking wine hangover. This is sometimes attributed to the sulphite preservatives used in wine to keep them fresher for longer. “Generally, organic wine producers use a lower level of sulphites in the production process, which means they are less likely to contribute to hangovers. “So if you don’t react well to sulphites you could be saying good riddance to hangovers with Lidl’s Organic Prosecco Spumante.” According to industry body IWSR (International Wines and Spirits Record), the UK market is expected to soar by more than 19% by 2020 to 7.1 million cases, making it double the size of the Uk market which is predicted to reach 2.1m cases by then. Globally, sales of Prosecco are set to rocket by 39% over the next five years, giving the Italian bubbly 8.2% of the prosecco market. Champagne sales are only expected to rise by 2% while Cava will remain unchanged.
