Eastenders Star to switch on NewMarket Christmas Lights

by Super User
Nothing quite marks the start of the festive season like a Christmas lights switch on. The big day may still be six weeks away, but the shops are already filling up with festive foods, treats and presents. And now we know who will have the honour of lighting up Newmarket this year. Step forward a familiar (and handsome) face from your telly. This year's lights are being switched on by none other than EastEnders star, Scott Maslen (better known as Ronnie Mitchell's dreamboat husband Jack Branning). If the name doesn't ring a bell, his picture should. The soap star will be in town on Tuesday November 19 for the big event, which runs from 4pm to 9pm. As well as turning the town into a twinkling wonderland, there will be three pantomimes, fairground rides on the High Street, live music and entertainment, late night shopping, food, booze and more at the event. The Mayor of Newmarket, Andy Drummond, will be helping Scott switch on the lights on the night. And there's another date to put in your Christmas calendar, as the town's main Christmas event kicks off on the weekend of December 9 and 10.The Mayor of Newmarket, Andy Drummond, will be helping Scott switch on the lights on the night.
