Why it may pay to wait to buy your Christmas chocolates - according to experts

Consumer group Which? studied price changes in the three months leading up to last Christmas If you wait until just before Christmas to buy your festive chocolates you could save a packet. Consumer group Which? compared the cost of six top-selling chocolate brands – Cadbury Heroes, Roses, Ferrero Rocher, Lindt Lindor, Mars ­Celebrations and Quality Street – over the three months to last Christmas. Five were cheaper in December than the two months before. It said the lowest prices were offered a week before Christmas and the highest in mid-November.Asda stocked the cheapest overall with a 724g Quality Street tin at 57p per 100g. It was also cheapest for Cadbury Heroes and Roses.Tesco priced Lindt Lindor lowest, with a 600g box at £1.78 per 100g. A Which? spokesman said: “It is worth waiting to buy your festive chocs.”
